MacBook Intel 2020 overheating with no apps running

My MacBook started to get hot even with no apps running. If there is 1 window open, let say Chrome with 1-3 tabs, CPU gets to 75C or more. Fans are running pretty loud. Any idea what is happening?

In activity monitor there is nothing wrong. Idle over 80%. Non CPU consuming apps.

Ok it is better now. Temperature around 45 Celsius and MacBook running fast.
It looks like Chrome was the problem.
I will try to reinstall it, as I prefer it over Safari.

Oh will they ever learn?

what do you mean? :)

I used Chrome for lat 7 years on both my MacBooks and it is difficult to switch to Safari. I won't give up easily :)
