Why do I lose music I’ve previously bought when I canceled the free subscription trial?

If you cancel a subscription to Apple Music, you will lose access to any of the music you downloaded as part of the subscription. You did not purchase that music; you were renting it. You only have access to it for as long as you are paying the monthly fee.

You will not lose any music you purchased through the iTunes Store.
