Can I send a audiobook as a gift to a family member who is in Amsterdam?

I am in the US and the indication I receive is "GIFT redeemable in US store only".

Not without sending them the money for it outside of the iTunes Store system.

So the gift recipient has to pay on her own in order to redeem the gift once she receives it via email?

You can't send it as a gift to someone in another country; you can only send them the money and tell them to buy it themselves.
