Macbook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Mid 2015) mirrored to iMac Question

I have a Macbook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Mid 2015). I want to mirror it onto a bigger iMac screen. I own 3 iMac computers (mentioned below).

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012)

Running macOS Catalina 10.15.7

iMac (27 inch, Mid 2011)

Running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

iMac (24 inch, Early 2008)

Running OS X Yosemite

Question:

Am I able to screen mirror my Macbook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Mid 2015) to any of my iMac computers.

Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support

The 2011 – 2012 iMacs can act as Target Displays for the 2015 MacBook Pro, or for each other.

  • You will need a Thunderbolt 1/2 cable.
  • If you want to use the 2012 iMac as a Target Display, you will need to downgrade it to High Sierra or earlier (which you could do by booting from a High Sierra installation on an external drive, without destroying your Catalina installation). Target Display Mode is not supported as long as it is running Mojave or Catalina.

The Early 2008 iMac doesn't support Target Display Mode – so can't be a display for any of the others.

Note that recent Macs don't support using any iMac as a Target Display – so when you get around to buying a new Mac, you'll need to get a real hardware monitor for it.
