How to set my new LACIE 2BIG RAID DRIVE TO RAID 1 (mirrored) in MAC Utility?

Is it possible to set my new LACIE 2BIG RAID DRIVE TO RAID 1 (mirrored) in MAC Utility?

I have tried by reformatting to HFS+ and partitioning to GUID, but the RAID assistant in Mac Utility will only read the partitions as a single unit, even though they are in fact two separate drives.

I also tried setting up with the LACIE Toolkit installer , and got stuck there too as it would not recognise when I allowed it permissions in the Mac security

MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.11

Sounds like the Lacie drive shipped with a RAID configuration which means you would need to use the Lacie interface to configure the drives (either to configure to the RAID level you want for hardware RAID, or by configuring them as JBOD so you can use software RAID created & managed by Disk Utility & RAID Assistant). I have never used a Lacie RAID drive so I'm not sure what options they provide to configure the hardware. If you are having trouble with the Lacie software, then you will need to contact Lacie support for assistance unless another more knowledgeable contributor has some experience with the Lacie software installation & setup.

Have you tried rebooting the Mac after installing the Lacie software?

Are you running any anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, or third party security software? If so, then they may be interfering with the Lacie software.
