keyboard not appearing on apple watch after the 10.3.1 update

i am not able to get the keyboard back after the update of 10.3.1 on my apple watch. only option is scribble and it's frustrating.

No keyboard on applewatch? first time owner of apple watch. Got ultra a few days ago. Reading online there should be a qwerty-keyboard on the actual watch, but this is not showing at any time during messaging or other apps where I should be able to write. It only starts dictating/recording. There is no option anywhere to drag from the bottom of screen to access either. Help?
