The keyboard won’t pop up on my Apple Watch. I have turned off the notifications for it on both my iPhone and iPad and still no keyboard on my watch??????

I have an Apple Watch SE and never had the option to type on the keyboard, that was discontinued after the Apple Watch 7. Currently the only two ways to text on the Watch is scribble and dictation, you cant remove either one currently.
SE never had a keyboard to the best if my knowledge. I currently have an Ultra and one of the nice features is the ability to use my iPad or iPhone keyboard if I need to. The slightly larger screen of the Ultra also aids in usability of the keyboard. Series 7, 8, 9 and Ultra and Ultra 2 are the only Watches with keyboards.

Are you sure about that, the Apple Watch SE never had a keyboard option. You can still scribble or dictate a message.

You seem to be saying the SE did once have a keyboard. Could you provide a reference for that? My understanding is that nothing lower that Watch series 7 every had one, and only starting with WatchOS 8.
Let me be more clear. The Apple Watch SE never had a keyboard, the only two ways to write were scribble and dictation. Only Apple Watch Series 7, Series 8, Series 9 and the Ultra 1 and Ultra 2 have a keyboard in Messages. The Apple Watch SE and earlier before the Apple Watch 6 never had a keyboard. Does that clarify things?

Most users found it inconvenient to type with a keyboard on such a small screen, so they removed it. If you really want it, you can download third party keyboard apps in the Apple Watch store. Such as FlickType - Watch Keyboard, seems like a top rated one.
I thought, when I first bought it I had the option of keyboard or dictation. I never had the scribble screen until just recently. From all the helpful responses though, I think I must be incorrect about the keyboard. Haven’t used my watch for a little while but, I definitely don’t remember this scribble screen. Thank you all for your quick and informative responses.
It used to give me the option of typing or dictating a message. Now it’s only writing or dictating. When did this change?
