my subscription renews March 15th 2024 why is Apple trying to take payment out already. It’s telling me to add a payment method and won’t let me download free apps

Why I am unable to update or download new apps that are free? I would like to know WHY I am unable to update, or download new apps that are FREE, when it says that I have an unpaid subscription that did not go through?? It was for 2.99 I THINK, I can’t really find where it tells me which one that it actually is. I can’t cancel the subscription, I can’t pay the subscription, (the money is there) I cannot do a thing!! How do I fix this??!! Extremely frustrating and not happy at all! I also can’t delete the card and put it back in, like a refresh, because it tells me that I have a subscription fee that has declined, and to update my payment information?! HOW?! It won’t let me pay it, I can’t delete the subscription, or the card I have on file……NOTHING!? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Can’t update any apps because new payment method is needed Can’t update any appso 12 because a new payment method is needed. I went and viewed my subscription there is a cancelled subscription that continues to bill me. I haven’t used this app and cancelled within the free trial period

You usually need a functioning payment method for your account. Even to re-download or update apps and for free apps. You can find the acceptable payment methods for your country here;
