Watch won’t play podcast

The episode is not available. To get Access to the episode, turn on cellular data or Use a Wi-Fi network.

This displays when it wants to turn on the podcast. Internet department in other applications. I restored the factory settings of the watch but it did not help.

Can I force download a podcast to Apple Watch? I would like to listed to a news podcast when I run in the morning, without my iPhone. The podcast is released early in the morning, around the time I wake up, so my watch doesn’t have time to auto-download it. After I wake up and have my watch on, is there a way that I can force my watch to download the podcast? It would be a pain to have to take my watch off, go back upstairs, put it on the charger and wait for it to download (as I have no control over exactly when the watch will download it). When I tap on the podcast (it has the little empty cloud symbol) it begins to play immediately, which I assume starts the download process, though there is no progress bar or indication if it completely downloaded. The last time I tried this, the podcast stopped about half way when I was listening to it. I wish Apple considered a situation like mine where a podcast is released after regular overnight charging and a person then wants to listed to it from their watch. A simple “Download now” option would address this. I’d be happy to manually download the podcast if Apple gave me a means to do so, and to know it’s been fully downloaded. Giving the watch the ability to play podcasts and music without a phone is great, but not giving us more control over that process, when we need it, is a failure on Apple’s part.

Apple Watch 6 - play podcast without internet or phone I have an Apple Watch 6 and would like to play podcasts while exercising outdoors without my phone or WiFi. I’ve followed the set up instructions, however as soon as I’m out of Range from my watch and home WiFi the podcast stops playing and the watch say I do not have an internet connection. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Issue with listening to podcasts on Apple watch when not carrying my iphone Hi, I updated my Apple watch software on June 12, 2021. As a result, when I go on a walk to listen to podcasts (I don't have my iphone with me and thus not connected to internet), I now get bombarded with the following message: device is not connected to the internet. This constant message is extremely annoying. This NEVER happened to me before when I went on walks listening to podcasts using my apple watch while not carrying my iphone. I am assuming that this issue is related to latest software upgrade I did for my Apple watch. Is it possible to find a fix to this issue please? Thank you for all your help. Elie FYI: episodes downloaded to your apple watch are available even when out of range of iphone
