Music Applications opens unexpectedly on my iMac

I was working away yesterday, listening to music via spotify (using a set of Beats headphones) when suddenly, apple music opens behind everything else I'm working on. I close it out but then it opens back up, and this continues on and on until I delete all my music off the app (I never use it anyway and did this so the spontaneous music that it would play would stop), then I installed notunes, which keeps it from opening, but on top of all this at the same time apple music opens up for no reason, spotify then youtube have spotty playing, they will start and stop in the middle of a song or video for no reason, many many many times.

I disconnected all my bluetooth items, thinking that might be the issue, nope, still doing it.

the apple music thing happened a couple of years ago and notunes stopped it then, but back then there was no related issue with spotify and youtube as there is now.

I really really really wish apple would allow us to delete apple music, it's really a kinda bad app.

never the less, anyone have any insight as to why this is happening and a possible fix or workaround?

This system has been upgraded in place, and across different macs, since at least 2010.

There are a number of old extensions and agents, any of them could be incompatible with Ventura and causing problems.

I recommend that you do two full backups, and then do a clean install followed by migrating ONLY the user accounts. This will leave all that old stuff behind. Yes, it will take a bit to then install your applications, but no nearly as long as it used to be. And you will get a clean performing system.

An alternative that may be quicker and better in the long run: get yourself a 1TB external SSD (you'll be surprised how cheap they are now). Install the OS on it, and then migrate ONLY the users from your internal drive.

You will get better performance from the drive compared to the Fusion Drive, and get the benefit of a clean system without needing to erase.
