Sync imessage and iphone WITHOUT icloud

For safety reasons on a Family Plan, I need to sync imessage and iphone just between my own Iphone 14 Pro and MacBook Air M2 without connecting to icloud so that my messages/texts cannot be read by anyone but me, especially not the plan owner on the iCloud plan.

How do I do this? It was working before, as I turned off iCloud awhile ago, and suddenly stopped working. Please provide step-by-step instructions, clear and simple. Thank you.

That’s a fair question.

Unless you are <13, the Family Organizer has no “special privileges” or access into your account.

Any sharing of info in YOUR account remains entirely under YOUR control.

The Family Organizer does NOT have access as is often the case in the classic “System Administrator” construct.

You might find the following Apple User Guide helpful (especially the checklists near the end).

Also, when I go under Settings on my iPhone, it shows Organizer's name and photo under "Family Sharing."

Need to sync between iPhone and iMessage on my MacBook but fearing at the Organizer they will be able to see or find texts if they search iCloud as it shows we are sharing data usage.

It does show under "See what Family members can access and share..." that Organizer has "Subscription access" to iCloud+.

Yes, because they are the organizer.

No, they cannot see the content of your messages even if you sync them through iCloud.

That means they pay for the subscription.

The only way the organizer could have access to your messages would be if they have your Apple ID and passcode. Do they?
