I recently purchased AirTags for my luggage. I connected it to my iPhone phone and tested the “play sound” option. The AirTag is sitting on my table, not inside luggage, and I can barely hear it. There is no way I could hear it inside my luggage. Is Apple going to send an upgrade to correct this?

No one here (we are not Apple employees) knows, whether or not, Apple will be providing an upgraded version of these AirTags that include a means to make them louder.
However, it may be possible that this particular tag is faulty. If you purchased it within the last 14 days, you can return it for either a full refund or a replacement.
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of volume issues and waited too long to check it out. It’s just outside of the return window.
You're very welcome! You can still use it with your luggage and locate it with the Find My app on your iPhone, even if you can't hear it making a sound.
