Why is my Airtag not making a sound when I play it?

I have a Samsung phone and when I get into my truck and I start driving I get a notifications that Airtag is located. When I try playing the sound to locate it I don't hear anything. I took my time looking in the front, back seats in the engine bay still can't hear any sound. I have an iPhone for work but it doesn't tell me anything either. Is it possible if someone got into my iPhone and share location it can display you are being tracked by Airtag.

It may be possible that the "owner" of this AirTag disabled its speaker. Unfortunately, this is becoming more common when that person wants to illegally track your vehicle and they are aware that smart phones can detect their presence ... but thwart the finder from actually easily locating it.

Not very likely, especially with an Android phone. Even with an iPhone, unless they have signed in with their Apple ID, and paired this tag to that ID, they will not have any access to the tag.
