How can I connect Asus VS247H monitor & LG TV using HDMI with Macbook pro 13" M2 chip

So I've tested a HDMI into USBC adapter and direct HDMI into the thunderbolt usb C port - the monitor is detected, selected and when I select Extend or mirror - the monitor doesn't display.

The monitor keeps saying "VGA no signal" - yet the laptop is showing a darker screen.

The LG TV - when I connected with the same wires it says there is no signal in HDMI + to check the power of device.

The ASUS monitor does work with a VGA with my Asus laptop and I found

and wonder if this is a fix at all?

Please see image of USB C used - Can you help me solve this problem?

Thank you

Correct me if I'm wrong – but it sounds like you are trying to connect two monitors (an Asus VS247H monitor & a LG TV) to a 13" M2 MacBook Air.

That computer only supports one external display.

MacBook Air (M2, 2022) - Technical Specifications

You mention HDMI and VGA. The specifications for the Asus monitor say that it is a 23.6" 1920x1080 monitor which has HDMI, D-Sub, and DVI-D inputs. I'm not sure why you would want to use the analog VGA (D-Sub) one – or even the DVI-D one, given that HDMI is more modern and that you have a USB-C to HDMI adapter on hand.

If you connected your M2 MacBook Air to the Asus monitor using that adapter, and the Asus monitor is showing the message "VGA no signal," there might be nothing wrong at all. It might just mean that the monitor is trying to show the signal from the unconnected VGA input, and that you need to use some control on the monitor to tell it to show the signal from the connected HDMI one.

You say that the LG TV says that it is not receiving any HDMI signal. HDTVs often have multiple HDMI input ports – so you might want to check that you've selected the one where the HDMI cable from the adapter is plugged in.

If neither the Asus monitor or the LG TV can display a HDMI signal when you plug them in one at a time, then that might cast suspicion on the adapter, or on the HDMI cable.

If that TV has built-in support for AirPlay – or if you have a set-top box or "streaming stick" that does – you could use AirPlay to connect your Mac to the TV.

The quality probably would not be as good as with a direct HDMI connection, but I don't think that AirPlay counts against your Mac's "one external monitor" limit. So HDMI to the monitor and AirPlay to the TV might let you use both at once.
