Why won't my iPhone notification sound when I get a reminder?

My iPhone 11 wasn't making the notification sound whenver I got a reminder. Silent reminders are not as helpful! Searched online for an answer and absolutely nothing helped. I've scoured the Settings app, turned on all my notifications, turned off Silent Mode, turned off Low Battery Mode, etc.---nothing.

Finally, I realized that my Apple Watch was giving me notifications with sound from the Reminders app even though my phone wasn't. I took the Watch off and put it in another room so it was disconnected from my iPhone. I ran a quick test on the Reminders app, and my iPhone notification sounded out loud! Turns out, it was just sending the notification to my watch as well, so my watch was buzzing and making sounds. I guess this was an intentional programming choice made by the Watch developers for convenience? Except it's not convenient; I prefer sounds on both devices. Personal preference, I suppose.

Always make sure to have your Watch's Silent Mode turned off, and Reminder notifications should sound off on the watch just fine!
