iPhones do not store user data on the SIM card. This means that the order in which you transfer your SIM and your iPhone during a quick transfer doesn't matter, as long as your iPhone is already activated.

Here's a breakdown:

  • SIM card: Primarily stores your carrier information (network provider, phone number, etc.) and a limited amount of temporary data for call routing and SMS storage.
  • iPhone storage: Holds all your data like contacts, messages, photos, videos, apps, and more.

Therefore, since the data you want to transfer resides on your iPhone's internal storage, the order of SIM card transfer becomes irrelevant. You can safely move your SIM card to the new device before or after transferring the main data through your chosen method (e.g., iCloud backup, Quick Start, etc.).

So, focus on the data transfer method that best suits your needs and prioritize that aspect during the quick transfer process.
