Syncing with iCloud Paused?

I recently subscribed to iCloud+ (200 GB) with the intention of backing up my photos and freeing up storage space on my iPhone. However, when I attempted to sync my photos to iCloud, the synchronization process was paused with an error message "Syncing with iCloud Paused, Not Enough iPhone Storage". Regarding the error message "Not enough iPhone Storage" this is precisely the situation why I'm trying to remedy with the subscription to iCloud+ storage.

I subscribed to this service to alleviate storage concerns on my iPhone, and it's unfortunate that it's not meeting its intended purpose for me currently How do I fix this problem?

You cannot delete the photos from your iPhone after syncing them to iCloud. All your photos will be gone.

The difference between iCloud and iPhone storage for photos:

Storage Options for Your Photos:

  1. iCloud Storage:
    1. Pros:
      1. Stores original resolution photos in the cloud.
      2. Access your photos and videos from any device with an internet connection.
      3. Frees up space on your iPhone.
    2. Cons:
      1. Requires an internet connection to access original photos on your iPhone.
      2. May incur additional storage fees if you exceed the free 5GB limit.
  2. iPhone Storage:
    1. Pros:
      1. No internet connection is needed to access photos stored on your iPhone.
      2. Free storage up to the capacity of your device.
    2. Cons:
      1. Stores lower resolution versions of photos to save space, reducing quality.
      2. Limited storage space on your iPhone can fill up quickly, especially with high-resolution photos.

Additional Option:

  • Optimize iPhone Storage: You can choose to store full-resolution photos in iCloud while keeping smaller, space-saving versions on your iPhone. This option allows access to high-quality photos, even offline, without using up all your device storage.

Choosing the Right Option:

The best option for you depends on your priorities and needs. If you value having high-resolution photos readily available on all your devices, even offline, and have a good internet connection, iCloud storage is a good choice. If storage space on your iPhone is a concern and you primarily use photos on your device, storing them on your iPhone might be sufficient. You can also use the "Optimize iPhone Storage" feature for a balance between quality and space efficiency.

I do understand the function of iCloud.

What I am trying to say is, I am trying to backup my photos from iPhone to iCloud so I could free up some space for my iPhone. But I can't do backup/sync at all.

In simpler terms:

  1. Sync/Backup Photos from iPhone to iCloud (I am stuck at this one - Current Problem)
  2. Move Photos from iCloud to PC
  3. Then delete the Photos in the iCloud so it won't sync with the iPhone anymore.
  4. It would solve my low storage problem for my iPhone.

I hope to see some meaningful reply that could help me resolve this problem. Thank you in advance. ^^
