I don’t want to add a payment method
I’m trying to download some apps but it keeps asking for a payment method and it’s never asked me that before and I’m not trying to add a payment method can you help me
Apple requires a verified payment method on your account to make use of the App Store services including downloading free apps.
Normally this is not an issue and can be ignored, unless there is a pending payment or charge and you don't actually have a payment method added to your account.
However, once it issues the message, there is no way around it. You must provide a verified payment method if you want to continue using the store services.
Once its correctly verified and there are no pending charges or active subscriptions, you can remove it and continue to access the App Store normally.
