I need help with airdrop to another device with same Apple ID. Both devices are set to contacts only.
Airdrop doesn’t work until settings is changed to Everyone for 10 minutes
Both devices are on same WiFi with same VPN.

While using a VPN, unless the VPN client supports split tunnelling, you may disrupt access to local network resources.
Fully disable and/or remove the VPN from your iPad when attempting to use AirDrop, AirPrint or similar local network services.

Ensure that Bluetooth has not been disabled in iPad settings - or the Control Centre.
Bluetooth is always on and problem is intermittent.
Restart both devices works but too cumbersome
