Missing Apple Pencil battery level widget, 6th gen iPad, Apple Pencil 1

just purchased a new Apple Pencil 1 for my iPad (6th gen). I see people talking about the Pencil Battery level widget, but I cannot find where to download it. There’s plenty of answers for how to install widgets, but no one can tell me WHERE to download the battery level widget for my Pencil from.

iPad Air, iOS 12

The Battery Widget does not need to be downloaded. Its built in.

You can get it when swiping all the way to the left to the Widget panel and tap on edit to add it.

What is not there?

The Battery Widget should be able to be added from the Widgets panel, and should show the Pencil's Battery percentage. (different from Battery health).

Add a widget to your Home Screen

  1. Go to the Home Screen page where you want to add the widget, then touch and hold the Home Screen background until the apps begin to jiggle.
  2. Tap at the top of the screen to open the widget gallery.
  3. Scroll or search to find the widget you want (Battery), tap it, then swipe left and right through the size options.
  4. The different sizes display different information.
  5. When you see the size you want, tap Add Widget.
  6. While the apps are still jiggling, move the widget where you want it on the screen, then tap Done.

The Battery widget is not in Settings. That's just the Battery settings page.

Please read and follow the steps in the link I provided above carefully. You are looking in an entirely wrong location.

Thanks Phil. I tried that several times from previous information. Still not there. I’m able to use the pencil, but I’d really like to know how long I can use it before it goes dead. I have deleted the Pencil from my Bluetooth, and reinstalled several times, too. Still no indication of battery health. Is there anything else that I can try?

Phil, thank you again for your efforts to help. When I scroll to the BATTERIES, all I have is the current state of my iPad, nothing else. I think I may have found part of the issue, though. When I turned off my VPN, I did manage to get the Pencil to show up under my SETTINGS. However, there is nothing that indicates the remaining battery level of the PENCIL. I've had Apple products since 1985, so I sort of know my way around some. This is a new one for me.
