Why does my MacBook bought in march has warrant only till december
I bought MacBook Air on the 1st of March but warranty says that it expires on the 12.12.2024. I am wondering why?

If you purchased it directly from Apple, then it really should be giving you the correct warranty coverage end date.
If you purchased it from an authorized reseller, then it may take a little bit of time for Apple to receive updated purchase information.
However, if you purchased the Mac from anyone else who is not an authorized reseller, then you have received a pre-owned Mac even if the Mac is still sealed in the box. Unauthorized resellers purchase their products just as a normal person does and that first purchase from Apple starts the warranty clock making you the second owner of the Mac.
If you purchased the Mac from Apple or an authorized reseller, then you should be able to update your purchase information with Apple:
