Yes, I understand that I can get the Apple Card statements on my iPhone (via Wallet). But my phone is not where I do my accounting. Is there a more direct way to download the statement PDFs onto my MacBook Air? (I do not have a model that has Touch ID.)

Yes, just go to card.apple.com and login with your Apple ID credentials and in the upper left corner is a menu to click on to see the option to receive your statement.
