Let’s say I’m texting a long message and then decide I don’t want to send this message. Other than using the X option to delete it word by word is there a faster way of deleting the whole message with one stroke. Thanks, everyone.

Yes there is a faster option. TOUCH and HOLD on any portion of the typed text, briefly, and then RELEASE. This will display a sub-menu with the option to SELECT ALL. Tap on SELECT ALL and then tap on the DELETE key.
