Can't change voicemail password

I need to change my voicemail password but every time I enter a new password of 4 to 7 digits, I get a message that the voicemail is not available. How do I change a voicemail password?

How do I find my voicemail password? When I open voicemail, it asks for a voicemail password, but I don’t recall ever putting in a password. So how would I get into my voicemails?

Contact your carrier for help, voicemail is their service.
