Although I’ve been using Pages on my iPad forever, it suddenly needed to be downloaded, but gives a message that it cannot be installed. The iOS is current. What happened to my Pages?

On what iPad Model? Which iPadOS version is currently running on it?
Pages app now requires iPadOS 16 or later version on the device.
