I am unable to open documents in Pages on my iPad

By now it’s not even freezing anymore. I can open Pages on the ipad, and that’s it. None of the documents are clickable. I have:

  1. updated Pages
  2. shut down and turned on the ipad (M4, 2024) twice
  3. Checked updates for ipad; up-to-date

Nothing works. Does anyone know how I can fix this..? An hour ago I could still work with it….

Begin with a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If the problem persists, Offload the Pages App - then restart the iPad (as described above) before reinstalling the Pages App from the App Store. Offloading an App removes just the App - but preserves associated App data and files:

Settings > General > iPad Storage > Pages > Offload App

Pages App:
