You'll see "WLAN" instead of "WiFi" on your iPhone because of the language setting. iPhones typically display "WLAN" instead of "Wi-Fi" when the device language is set to a region that uses the term WLAN more commonly. This is because WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network, which is essentially the same thing as Wi-Fi.

Here's the breakdown:

  • WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network. It's the technical term for what most people know as WiFi.
  • Apple uses the term that's common in the specific language your iPhone is set to. In some regions or languages, "WLAN" might be the more widely used term.

For example, in some versions of English or other languages, WLAN might be the preferred term. It definitely doesn't mean your iPhone is fake or has any functionality issues. It simply reflects the language setting.
