new macbook air speakers are creating feedback

when trying out zoom on my new device i could every now and again (enough to be really annoying) hear some feedback. The other recipient couldnt hear it, and it was only when i spoke not them. Any ideas why?

The sound output on my PC reverberates When I use my MacBook Pro (2017) with zoom or Teams other users complain about feedback when I am not on mute. That's fine but limited the time I can speak. There is a reverberation or generally poor quality to the receiving sound so appears to be an issue with my speaker. Any ideas without having to buy a new Macbook?

m2 Mac mini sound output while in a meeting, I could barely understand others because the sound output was as if I were listening thru an old fashioned telephone. it was tinny to the extreme. is there anything I can do to make others in the meeting sound normal?

Changing sound balance of external speakers to left or right causes the sound level to mute on both sides My Mac mini 2023 (M2 Pro, running macOS Sonoma 14.4.1) is connected to a Creative Pebble V3 speakers over USB-C. Under normal circumstances, the sound comes out normally: in stereo, from both left and right speakers at the same level. However, if I go to the macOS System Settings / Sound / Output & Input / Balance and move the sliders from the centre to either left or right channels the sound level (of both speakers!) decreases gradually as it approaches either side and eventually mutes completely (when I have the slider at 100% left or 100% right). Are there any suggestions to investigate and fix this issue? Thank you!

Adjust the volume levels for speaker volume and microphone sensitivity. You either have the audio set too loud, or the microphone sensitivity is too great. Check the Sound System Settings (Output & Input sections), plus you may want to check Zoom's own settings as well.

It is also possible someone else in the Zoom chat session has incorrect settings, but figuring out who it is. The only way to completely eliminate your system as the problem is by using headphones instead of the system speakers.
