Mass downloading all photos from icloud

Since for some reason you don't allow replies to existing questions and close "old" threads even though they haven't been answered with an actual fix (WHY??) once again I have to repeat the same questions others have asked and hundreds have "meetoo'd" before.

How do you download ALL photos from icloud.com to any device, without running into the limit of select maximum 1000 files at once?

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17

You can sync using iCloud for Windows on a PC, or by using Photos on a Mac to sync your library. That will allow you to then export photos in any quantity.

If you use iCloud for Windows or the Photos app on a Mac, your photos can sync with iCloud; so your photos will already be downloaded onto your device. There is no download all button as everything is already there. The same is true on your phone. If you elected to optimize in photos, then originals from iCloud would download as needed to replace your optimized images synced to your device.

Ok, so if you need the ad-hoc task of "download it all right now" then you would install the app on some Windows machine and just wait.. it sounds.

Thanks, this might be helpful for others, I am not a Windows user though.

So I am limited to the features of icloud.com in a browser or to use tools that directly talk to the icloud API.

Thank you! So you are saying if i use some app version of iCloud instead of opening icloud.com in a browser then there is no such limit and I can just hit an "all" button or something? These are installable applications?

It's just that I don't own a Windows computer, but I would still like to clarify if that is what you mean.

Also, is there any way to merge or link this into an existing thread, like:

It would be so much more efficient for everyone if we could answer the same question there instead of repeating ourselves.. users finding the old threads but not being able to provide the solution etc.
