Interactive Shell is Now zsh

I had issues a few months ago after the Sonoma update. Finally got my computer working BUT with a few strange problems. Certain apps. etc. but again got things working. Today I had time to look into issues. For Ex. I have alias icons on Desktop, Textedit/iMovie/GoogleProEarth/Word/Excel, etc.. on desktop. Then to USER/GROUPS to check shell setting, bin/bash, at Terminal screen, being told my default shell is zsh and I should change it to /bin/zsh/. When viewing USER/GROUPS - my user picture and user name as admin. but noticed my apple ID isn't showing? My old User Name does show Apple ID. I decide not to make any changes at this time. Need some expert help... please.

Here is the message:

The default shell for newly-created accounts switched from bash to zsh at macOS 10.15.

Your login account is older, and has accordingly preserved use of bash. Your shell did not change.

bash has and will be around for a while, but is exceedingly unlikely to ever get anything past any critical or security fixes; to ever get any function or feature updates.

You can ignore that message, or can suppress that message, or can switch the shell to zsh.

Here is the article referenced in that message describing the change and describing the options:

If you are seeking to change your shortname, you can follow the steps in this support article:

Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder - Apple Support

You will need to follow those steps exactly, as mistakes here can block access.

You will want one or two backups prior to changes, and I’d create a second and spare Admin account.

The following cropped image shows the shortname in red (yeah, and expurgated), shows the shell selection in green, and shows a warning in yellow:

I’d suggest posting edited and cropped screenshots too, lest you leak sensitive information.

Here is how to get screenshots of parts of the display:
