Help with activation lock

I have an iPad with my old iCloud account attached to it. It's an iPad 2, from probably 2010-11. My Apple account was locked for security. I have the old password but its requiring a password reset. AOL has locked out my email account so I cannot reset the password to login. This was so many years ago I am having trouble remembering the security questions. Im looking for some advice for how I can access my account ans remove the activation lock
