How to reference same cell in all sheets without having to manually click it on every sheet

I have a 20 sheet file that I use monthly. I know how to get the sum of specific cells across all sheets but it would be easier if I didn't have to scroll through and manually add each cell from each sheet for every formula I have. Is there a way to say SUM of D5 from sheet 1-20?

Numbers does not have that. I suppose Apple could have implemented something where you could, for instance, sum cell B2 from every Table 1 on every sheet or a range of sheets but they did not. It can be done with a table that gathers the data into one table. Below is a screenshot of how it can be done.

If Column A is a list of existing sheets only and the formulas are in those rows only, the formulas will not need the IFERROR function around them.

All data in one table is much better if any kind of analysis is to be done that spans multiple months. You can filter the table to show only the data you want to see, pivot tables can be used for analysis, "display" tables can be created to look up and show all transactions for a specified month or date range, you can chart multiple months of data, etc.

Hi Clsmith8867,

Take a look at this wise reply by SGIII: Adding Monthly Transactions Sheets to Num… - Apple Community

Have a look at this expanded version of the template (Dropbox download).

[My Edit: expanded version of the Numbers Personal Budget template].

The idea is to continue entering your transaction data in one place, and pull out monthly summaries from that data. In spreadsheets that's usually much easier and more efficient than scattering data input across various places in your document and then trying to consolidate it in one place.

I agree.

Ian.
