Deleting Trash

  1. What if any files should be saved in Trash on 2013 my iMac?
  2. I haven't emptied the trash for a number of years now and my iMac is running extremely slow.
  3. Will emptying my Trash improve its performance?

The Trash is intended for files that you no longer want or need and it should be Emptied regularly. It is not the place to put files for safe keeping or for files that you do not want to delete.

If there are GB's of files in the trash and your iMac is running low on disk space? Then yes, emptying the Trash could help.
