Having the ipad charge for over 12 hours or more a day.

Hi! im a student and own an Ipad air 4, usually use it in my library/study center, sometimes at home, and i try to have it connected to a power source at all times so as to not have it discharge on me during a study session.

Mostly i use my power adapter and occasionally if i forget to bring it along, i use a power bank.

I wanted to know if keeping my ipad at 100% charge all the time will cause any issues with its battery life in the long run? (I do discharge it to around 15% once every few days, but that’s occasionally and when not studying, watching movies ,etc.)

Also have attached battery data from the battery cycle shortcut, if it’s any help.

Your iPad will suffer no ill effects through being connected to its Power Adapter for extended periods. Your iPad will automatically regulate and optimise charging - and will not overcharge the battery.

When used in kiosk applications - where external power is connected for extended periods of time - the iPad may modify its charging strategy and limit battery charge to ~80% of maximum. This modified charging strategy is designed to reduce chemical ageing that might otherwise occur if 100% charge is maintained at all times.

Nominal 100% charging will be restored when a normal charge/discharge routine is restored.

Unlike iPhone, your iPad does not have a Battery Health feature. As such, there have been many attempts to estimate battery health from iPad Analytics data. You should note that these techniques are not officially supported - and represent, at best, only an estimate.
