Macbook pro black screen

I have a 2020 macbook pro, and the screen and the touchbar both recently went black. I wanted to know what could be the reason why this happened. The laptop is still on because when I plug it in to charge it, I hear the noise that it makes, but the screen is just black. Please help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

If it is an Intel Mac, then try an SMC Reset (read the instructions carefully since the process has changed).

If it is an Intel Mac, then try a PRAM Reset (hold for two chimes if possible).

Make sure to disconnect all external devices in case one of them is causing a problem.

FYI, the laptop will make the "ding" sound even if the laptop is powered off when you connect the charger.

If none of this helps and you don't see anything on the screen, then you will likely need to have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop.
