Issue with moving files from Preview to Documents folder using MacBook Air

When I download a pdf to Downloads folder, and I open it with Preview, then it can ONLY save to the last location, the Downloads folder. I get that. When I try and Preview>File>MOVE TO a folder in Documents, Preview cannot move it to sub folders. I have to MOVE the file to Documents folder (top level), let go of the mouse, and then go back and find the file, to 'drag and drop' it into the correct sub folder. This creates a lot of double handling.

Why can't I use 'sprung loaded' sub folders to find where I want to Save it to........? I also have no "Save As" option in Preview, there is only a Move option. Did Mac do away with these options, thinking nobody would need them? Im using an M1 Airbook 2020 on OS 12.6.2.

You can get the Save As... by holding down the Option key when opening the File menu;

or by pressing Command-Shift-Option-S.

Better yet, you can avoid this hassle simply by adding backt the good old shortcut Command-Shift-S

in System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts:

Add a new shortcut, choose "All applications", type "Save As..." (without the quotes) and put in the old and sane shortcut.

Not just in Preview, but most other applications, you can start using Command-Shift-S and also it will show up in the File menu (no need to press any key anymore).
