How to enable "Use Java Runtime Environment" on LibreOffice on macOS Sonoma

I have the free version of Libre Office from their Website (one down from the latest version), on my Sonoma/Macbook Air M2.

The one on the App Store doesn't support Java bases extensions. The one I have has Java Run Time (JRE) already installed. (see image below)

My question is...

I don't use Java at all. Should I untick where it says, 'Use Java runtime environment' so I don't have any problems on my Mac?

Sorry, but what I don't understand is that you state that you don't want to use Java on your Mac. Then you mention that the version of LibreOffice at the Apple App Store does not support Java extensions. You, instead, downloaded a version that does and now want to know if disabling this option will not cause any issues with your Mac. Did I understand this correctly?

... and, if I did, then why didn't you just get the version from the App Store?

Thank you... I rarely even use Libre Office. I like to use the Apple apps instead. Only got this, in order to read some files that I copied from my Dad's 2006 MacBook to my very new one. I could not open them and someone on the site suggested this LO app. I went to the site and got it. Didn't know it was on the app store till all said and done. It worked for what I wanted. Left it on my computer in case some of his other files don't open. (2006 MacBook has been turned into Apple for recycling so no choice). I had heard Apple isn't thrilled with Java so want to know if I either 'untick' avoid the Java problem (which I don't know really what that is). Make my computer safe.

If I can make it safe... I don't need to waste $10+ to have something I rarely use.
