Apple Macbook Pro M1 Max vs M3 Pro

Hi, I'm looking into buying a new Macbook Pro and wanted advice. I found an Apple Macbook Pro M1 Max with 64 GB of Ram and 2 TB SSD fro $2599 and I wanted to know if that was the better buy rather than an Apple Macbook Pro M3 pro with 36 GB of Ram and 1 TB SSD for a similar price. Is the M3 Pro chip that much better than the M1 max even though I'll be getting almost twice the RAM and storage?

Unless you need the speed of the Max, the energy efficiency of a Pro along with the generational M3 performance makes the most logical sense.
