Why is quicktime audio recording an echo?

I make audio screen recordings periodically, using quicktime by pulling down the "new audio recoding" under FILE. Most of the times the recording are fine, but once and awhile they are terrible - like a ghostly echo in a tunnel. What is causing this to happen?

Mac creates echo for video call partipants in speaker mode Since a few weeks ago my Mac has developed an issue that I don't seem to be able to solve. Whenever I make a video call, whether it is on Teams, Zoom, Chine or Google Meets, the other people will hear a very bad echo on their side making the call impossible. The problem instantly goes away when I select my Airpods Pro. I can also select my iPhone as a microphone and speaker and then the problem also goes away. This is a 14" M1 Pro Steps I have taken: Turned off permissions to mic for all apps except the one I'm using during the call Deleted audio controller prefs files and restarted Reset the RAM It's maddening. Please help!

iPhone Microphone Echoing I'm trying to record an assignment for class using QuickTime Player on my MacBook Air, and I'm using my iPhone with the Microphone Live app as a mic to get better audio. However, when I speak into the mic, there's an echo that comes out. How can I fix this?

ok. well since you are using soundflower, then you must be aware of the issues surrounding performing audio recordings with the built in mic. so I need to ask which macOS are you using?
