I would like to import songs that I have purchased into iTunes. I would then like to convert the songs to MIDI and musical notation to help me learn how to play the songs. Thanks for any help.
I have attempted many times but the songs are grayed out and I cannot select them to import.

The song is probably greyed out because it isn't downloaded on your computer. Open iTunes and make sure the song is downloaded. Then you should be able to open it in Logic.
The bad news is there is no way to convert a song from iTunes into a midi track. What you might try is searching the web for a midi version of the song you are trying to play. You'd have to download the midi track and add it to Logic.

I just verified that you can use music purchased from Apple using iTunes/Music. You can't use their music if you're using the streaming service. There's nothing wrong with using Apples songs. And you can also try Amazon music which is MP3 format and easy to play on everything. Whatever you won't be able to convert a whole song into midi unless it is a very simple song without vocals, drums, and multiple layers of music. There's some AI sites that claim they can do it, but haven't had much luck finding one that succeeds/ Even on simple stuff.
It's also possible the songs downloaded from iTunes are protected by digital rights management in which case, they cannot be loaded into Logic.
Doubtful....but possible.
Thank you for the replies. I will try some other work arounds. I will look into converting the songs into a different format or purchasing the songs from another service that uses a format conducive to importing. I have Cubase and Ableton Live. There has gotta be a way to do what I want to do?
I purchased the music from iTunes or it was music converted from CDs.
