New phone (have a 12)? or new battery?

Phone has 77% battery and doesn’t last long. Hemming and hawing about whether to get new phone — would like to be able to take closer up photos.

The newer iPhones provide newer technology, including improved camera features, but comes at the cost of purchasing a new device.

Your current iPhone 12's battery is definitely due for a replacement. Apple considers that battery needs to be changed if it can no longer maintain, at least, an 80% charge.

Only you can decide which path to take here. Of course, if money is no object, then "go for it." ;)
