I just got a new MacBook Air M2. I have a Canon Maify all-in-one 2320. I can print from the MB but it won't scan. Both devices are connected to the same wifi. How do I get the scanner to connect?

For this device, under the download sections for Monterey, Ventura, and Sonoma, there is a "Canon U Scan Utility2 Ver2.4.1 (Mac)" download.
Did you add the scanner via System Settings-->Printers and Scanners-->Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax?
I forgot to mention that you can try the Image Capture application. It should be in your Applications folder. Launch the app, and select your Maxify printer, and you should see the option to scan.
By any chance, do you have any anti-virus, Mac "Cleaner", Mac "Speeder Upper", Mac "Optimizer" or VPN software installed on your Mac? It's possible one or more of them is interfering.
(It's puzzling to me that your printer shows up when you click on Print....but that same printer doesn't show up in the left column of the Image Capture application).

I am unable to connect through image capture also.
The printer shows up in image capture but it doesn't allow me to do anything. No response just like in the utility app.
The device shows up in image capture on the left but it is grayed out.
It searches for the scanner but I get the error message "failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)
Why can't I scan from my Canon printer to my Mac?
