MBP 2023 M2 Pro - kernel panic with cpu 9 caller 0xfffffe00240bdd88 error

Hello,

I notice that it usually happens when I leave the laptop to charge overnight, the next day I wake up with it restarted and an error message: cpu 9 caller 0xfffffe00240bdd88

this has been happening since day one since I bought it, but I've managed to get my work done with it. The point is that the warranty expires at the end of the month and I would like to know if it is a hardware or software problem.

It's a MBP M2 Pro with OS 14.2.1 (23C71).

I am attaching the entire error specific log.

PS: Couldnt copy the entire log, it was too huge.

FED Error is fairly new, and the Internet has not seen much of it. Nor have posters here. The one user who reported that bullied an Apple Authorized Service Provider into changing the mainboard and the issue stopped.

The problem is that Apple First Responders are NOT trained to read panic reports -- that requires a Specialist. You want a Specialist, based on your report, to DIRECT an Apple service provider to change the mainboard (or provide an alternative that really fixes the problem).

What NOT to do:

DO NOT just submit your computer for service, COLD. They will run diagnostics in a loop overnight to all week, then return it to you "no faults detected".

what TO DO:

contact Apple support. ask for a Specialist to READ your panic reports. anything posted here can be read by them (which can be a big timesaver) provided you give them a hint about how to find it -- your avatar or a link to the discussion.

What they do not take at face value is our conclusions. They have their own more rigorous problem-determination processes.

macOS 14.2.1 has been superseded. Update macOS. To learn how to do that please read Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support.

If the kernel panic events persist be sure to contact Apple: Official Apple Support. Don't wait for its warranty to expire. It may be hardware-related considering the fact they have been occurring since the day you bought it. That's not normal.
