Where is workout view on my Apple Watch?

What happened to the Fitness App section that allowed you to put the metrics for your workout in a specific order (ex Distance, Elevation, Steps, Calories, Pace) that you could look at during your workout? This seems to have completely vanished after I moved to an Apple series 9 watch. I spent three hours with Apple Support today and even they were stumped. At the moment, I sometimes I get distance and pace but it often bounces back and forth with training tools I don’t use (splits, total time ect)

You can omit (turn off) metrics, but you cannot change the order they appear on the workout screen.

Fitness app is an iPhone app, the changes you describe are made in Workout app, in the chosen workout, tap three dots, Preferences, Workout views.

I am here to update this issue: I have spent more than 25 hours since Feb 2024 trying to get my Apple Watch 9 series to work properly—half of that time has been with multiple calls to and from Apple Support, including hard resets and recording videos of the issue. Backstory: I received this as a gift in Dec 2023 after my brand new Apple 8 fell off my arm while hiking in a boggy meadows due to the cheap silicone band it came with.

I activated this new one in Jan 2024. It is essentially worthless to me as I cannot get it to stop randomly defaulting to splits, laps and segments no matter what I turn on or off or even after 8 complete unpairing resets in then past few months. It’ll work OK for a week than just randomly show split/laps. It also now jumps workouts. I’ll start in Outdoor Running and end up in Indoor Running or weirder yet Rowing. I requested Apple let me trade this in for another Apple 9 series, and they said my only option is to send it in for repair. In the meantime, that means I have no watch to use. They do not provide loaners. Everything in my house is Apple but that is changing starting now. I am now looking at Garmins. I will never buy another Apple Watch.

Go through the diagnostics I gave above which may result in sending it for repair (actually a replacement). You have not indicated that you have been through all of those. If you have then the Watch is kaput.

AppleCare+ offers rapid replacement. Std warranty doesnt.

Having been to Apple and having gotten advice to send it in kinda negates the point of coming here - in most cases they are right.
