What is QtWebEngineProcess? It appeared on Mac mini's LaunchPad.

what is QtWebEngineProcess?

It appeared in my LaunchPad, not sure exactly when.

It doesn't do anything when I click on it and I can't seem to delete it in Finder. I don't know if it is causing any problems but it's annoying seeing it there when I don't know why it's there or what it is.

How do I get it out of the LaunchPad?

My system is:

MAC Mini

M2 Pro Chip

Sonoma 14.3.1

A third party app that is using the cross platform Qt framework...is calling this executable

<QTWebEngineProcess.exe>

Everybody seems to be locked on to the idea that this is related to streamdeck by Elgato. I've never heard either I don't have streamdeck on my system. In addition some of those discussions for a little bit deep for just an average Computer user. Why can't there be an answer search for this or that and delete.

ignore streamdeck by Elgato.

This could be a multitude of third party apps not limited to the one example you reference.

for example.—Chrome, Chromium Project, Dropbox, Origin, Hipchat, etc...

It's not so complicated. You downloaded and installed some software made by someone pretending to be a computer programmer. That's the internet for lot. Lots of people pretend to be something they're not.

The problem with software is that people download these apps and give them full and absolute control of their computers, and all of their data.

Why can't there be an answer search for this or that and delete.

By default, most of those "deep" places aren't included in any searches. Unless you want to really dig into it, or download some other app that will do the digging for you, I'm afraid your only option is to just create a folder in LaunchPad for "Other stuff" and move it there.
