How to select back layers in Mac Pages

This question was asked years ago, but the reply given didn't work for me.

I'm hoping Mac has created a simpler solution for this problem.

I use Pages to design flyers, etc. Sometimes, I want to select a layer that's in the back.

But Pages only allows me to select the top layer.

How can I select objects or text that are in the back?

There must be a simple way of doing this.

Hi Musikali,

It seems that there are no objects in the Section Layout. In that case, your document has layers of objects on the page. Here we go with a Text Box in front of ("on top of") a Shape.

To select the shape, first click on the Text Box to select it and Format Panel (on the right) > Arrange > Back (or Backwards) until the unwanted image is in front. Click and delete.

Regards,

Ian.
