Type any IP address such as 1.1.1.1 in the browser address field the press enter. This will open the WiFi login screen.

The solution is stupid simple. I found a post from 2014!!!!! with this solution.

Type in purple.com in your browser then press enter. Then this forces the starbucks login.

This issue was driving me nuts! Tried forgetting network, restarting laptop, nothing worked.

This simple solution worked for me though. Hope it helps someone in the apple community.
