Trouble with the Mac screen record feature

Greetings


I wish to express the utter distress I am experiencing caused due a recurring problem of the screen record feature of my Mac.

Whenever I try to capture a screen recording of my screen, it starts correctly however, stops merely after a second or two. You can see it as the small screen recording icon on the top disappears as soon as it starts.

I have been told that this might be a storage capacity shortage issue. I do not quite agree with this owing to the fact that my device does not have a lot of data stored in it as of yet.

Anyhow, is this reason the most appropriate possibility?

If not, what prompt action must be taken in order to fix this?
