How do I reset a locked iPad that I purchased?
I purchased an iPad from a local pawn shop EZ Cash Pawn and I can open it, but I cannot erase it completely because it is asking for an Apple ID password

Hello~ You can’t reset it. That is an activation lock and cannot be removed at all. We cannot help and Apple will not help. Return it as you will not be able to use it for it was not properly prepared for resale.

Return it for a refund.
Actually when I called Apple, they helped me do a complete erase and reinstallation of the operating software on the device. Works great now. 👍 Be sure to tell them and provide proof (if requested) that the device was purchased legally.
Hello~ As you can see above the Author said it was purchased at a pawn shop. Apple doesn’t recognize that as proof that the iPad was “legally “ purchased. The device is activation locked and could indeed be stole. At best it was not properly prepared for resale and Apple will not touch it.
