Im logged out with the mouse keys option enabled

I logged out of my macbook air m2 not knowing the mouse keys accessibility option was on. Now I cannot sign in since it turns on as soon as I start up my laptop. I tried talking to apple support and tgey told me to press option key 5 times, which did nothing, and then proceeded to tell me to boot into options mode but it was pointless since I cant type my password in to use It. Anyone know what I should do or am I just missing something obvious. Please help

MacBook Air, macOS 14.3

Am no expert in this area, yet your request for help certainly deserves some response:

Seems some keys still work as normal with mouse keys enabled:

Esc, Function keys, Eject, Delete, Tab, Shift, fn, Control, Option, Command, and the arrow keys.

Apple support's online article (link below)

You can: Control the pointer using Mouse Keys on Mac - Apple Support

says

"you can use Accessibility Shortcuts to quickly turn Mouse Keys on or off".

A third-party (non-Apple) article online, discusses a similar mouse keys issue:

https://superuser.com/questions/1759136/macbook-mouse-control-keys-at-login

A few examples say:

"The only solution I found was plugging in a USB keyboard and typing my password.

USB keyboard was not using the shortcut".

and

"I found the problem in my case: Mouse Keys was enabled in System Preferences -> LockScreen -> Accessibility. Once disabled, the issue was gone."

All the best :-)
